Instructions
Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
Add diced tomatoes and marinara sauce to the skillet. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and cook for 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Sprinkle with fresh or dried basil before serving. Enjoy over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. Try using chicken thighs for a juicier version.
