Equipment

  • Oven
  • Pizza Stone or Baking Sheet

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups flour all-purpose
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water warm

Sauce

  • 1 cup canned tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • optional toppings such as sliced pepperoni, mushrooms, etc.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F. While the oven is heating, prepare the dough: In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of yeast, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 3/4 cup of warm water. Knead until smooth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Make the sauce: In a blender, combine 1 cup of canned tomatoes, 1 minced garlic clove, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, and salt and pepper to taste. Blend until smooth.
  • Assemble the pizza: Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and add any optional toppings.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
