Equipment

  • Oven
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 0.75 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder or dried herbs optional, for flavor

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and optional garlic powder or herbs. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  • Dust a clean surface with flour and knead the dough for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball, then flatten slightly into a 4-inch disc. Place on a greased baking sheet.
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F. Let the rolls rest for 5 minutes while the oven heats, then bake for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let the rolls cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and fill with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For best results, use fresh yeast and check that your water is at 110°F to activate it properly.
